Just looking at the river is relaxing. We love coming here.
New Westminster Quay is nice. 5 km of gardened boardwalk alongside the Fraser River with some fun shops, restaurants, and pubs. There are kids parks plus a couple sanded public volleyball courts and hammocks.
With a beautiful waterfront walk and phenomenal kids playground (built Dec 2017) it's easy to spend a day enjoying this park. River market is right along the trail and easily assessable from the New West SkyTrain station.
Note the Quayside park is not to be mixed up with the Pier Park. They are different.The park was recently rebuilt from the ground up. It is a lot more fun for the little ones. They have steel ping pong tables which are quite interesting. Bring a ball or two then leave it in the paddle bin as a donation!
