I bought a bike from Cap's Bike in June 2016 deciding to commit to riding to work full-time. My experience with the store over the last two years has been only positive. They have helped/guided me as a bike commuter by: selecting the right bike, helping me fix flats a half hour before closing, suggesting tires that will better withstand my 20km commute, keeping me warm and comfortable during the winter rides, etc... The staff are bike enthusiasts; who are happy to share their knowledge/experience. When you purchase a bike from Cap's you are getting a great priced bike along with a team who will look after you and your bike for many years to come.
Go talk to my Boy Chris he will set you up. Got my last 2 bikes from here and all my accessories , he is the man and hooked me up. Got a bunch of stuff on clearance from previous seasons and they got the best Specialized line up second to none .
Not professional, rude staff. Got a "skilled" advice from the store staff to purchase bionx electric bike in order to commute 30 km (one way). The advice was unprofessional. Though bionx advertised 130 km per charge, but the battery never performed more than 35km. In a short period of time the battery did not do even that. It just got weared.In the first place the bike was assembled poorly. Rear wheel came off in middle of cycling, which once almost got me killed (when I cycled downhill).Took it to the store, they "fixed" it, but already on my way home the wheel came off again. They shipped the bike to manufacture for fix/replacement. In 2 weeks called me to come over to get replacement bike (said that it is ready), but when I came in (after extra 40 min commute) the bike was not assembled.After 6 visits to the distant shop, and no bike. Given I came to the shop without any purpose, I was harsh talking with them (but definitely in reasonable polite manner) the store manager said that she does not want to do business with me and asked to leave the store and she would mail me reimburse check by mail. I would not expect such behavior from any shop especially when they sold 3k bike and fail all the way.At the end of the day I ended up purchasing the bike from the store. It is probably unclear why I kept with the store. 1. I did not know that bionix nothing better then cheep staff, but double priced. I assumed it would server me good and was excited about electric bike idea. 2. The bike price was very expensive 4k, I looked for last year model promotion and since it was around Feb / March all stores already soled out. At the time original bike shop was only store that still carried last year model + it was on promo for 3k. I kept with the "bad" store for the price, now regret.
Taking my bike in for repair was simple and easy. They were transparent with me about the repair and gave me advice to keep my bike in good shape. 10/10 would recommend!
15 years ago, I bought a Specialized Sirrus from Caps in New Westminster. Today, I bought another--and received outstanding service from Chris, and other workers there. Chris had answered my questions by email, and then he assisted me in the store. I am very grateful to him for his mature professionalism. Now I have a great bike, and I had a very good experience buying it. I would also like to say that the other employees were all helpful, too. (Aside from the service, one very good reason to shop at Caps is that you have a full range of options, price-wise--a lot of shops don't sell bikes below a certain point, but Caps does--and it also sells all those fancy bikes, too.)
