I just spent 9 days in the high Acuity Trauma Ward following an ATV accident. I have so much respect and admiration for the nurses in this Ward, they are actual angels! Thank you so much for nursing me back to health. You are all amazing at your jobs and probably don't hear enough that you are appreciated!
This is a HOSPITAL. Not a clinic. It is not a requirement for the staff to sugarcoat every person or every situation that comes through that door. Emergency rooms are designed for EMERGENT cases. Stop being so bigoted and understand that you're not the only person with a painful situation. (Especially for stepping on broken glass. You can fix that at home with a first aid kit, easily.) You often forget that behind those doors, there are people being transferred based off how urget the medical requirement needed is. They can't take all cases seriously, especially when there are hundreds of duds a day. It's become this way truly because of people like the ones leaving personal bad reviews here, are walking into the ER with a small problem. Yes, they are understaffed and overworked. That's the Canadian health system and quite frankly, it's been that way for quite some time. But it's covered a vast majority of your medical bills on a yearly basis and if we can't find the time to be thankful, (even to the mean nurses or doctors,) then why the hell are you walking into the ER in the first place?
I was standing in line waiting to check in at emergency. A lady came in and told themHer husband was having a stroke in the car out front and asking for help. FOUR nurses just stood there telling her she needed to bring him in herself. This poor lady asked them 4-5x to help her and her husband and they refused to do so she was clearly unaware of how to handle a situation like that and was too small to help her husband! She ran around lookingFor a wheelchair for 10 minutes and they did not help her. If I was not in pain and ableTo help I wouldve. Giving this place 1 star is more than what they should deserve. I would not recommend going to this hospital at all!
I have had many experiences over the years at Royal Columbian Hospital. Whether I was visiting the Emergency Room or getting a consultation or having tests done, I have always had a positive experience The staff is very friendly and professional and it is always clean and welcoming. I appreciate everything they have done for me. Thank you !
My mom was admitted here and I had spent every day of her two-week stay at this hospital visiting her. There are definite improvements in order. However, the nursing staff cared and took care of my mom and treated us very kindly. I was certainly glad for the level of care that my mom received.
